Richard Bang: Director

Richard has spent over 30 years as a self-confessed computer geek. He has had a life-long passion for visual effects, digital art, photography and filmmaking.

After winning multiple awards for his black and white photography, Richard became fascinated with cinematography. To that end he has written and directed several short films including Dick Ikon and the Petulant Princess and Diabolus Domi, both of which have been featured in the DVX film festivals.

When he is not making films, Richard is a highly successful computer software designer with his own international software company. He has a degree in Physics and Electronics and is married to Lin Bang, a writer and film producer and they have three wonderful kids who are also enthusiastic members of the Freekstorm team.

Richard founded Freekstorm in 2009 with the aim of exploring the worlds of filmmaking and Visual Effects. It is Richard’s creative desire to tell stories which merge fantasy with reality, thereby connecting the real world with the power of our imaginations.

Lin Bang: Producer

Prior to becoming an independent film producer, Lin Bang spent several years as an art journalist running a highly successful photography blog. She has also designed and hosted online photographic awards and is a contributing editor for a popular online fine art photography magazine.

Before deciding on a producing and writing career, Lin developed her management and financial skills working for twenty years as the Finance Director of an internet software company. She is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants and has a degree in Law.

Lin is based in Norfolk, U.K. and specialises in the fantasy genre through the production company, Freekstorm, which she runs with her partner Richard Bang.

Cast and Crew:

Sam Bang is our artiste in residence, specialising in computer generated art and design. He holds an Art Scholarship at The Kings School Ely and his main interest is in games design graphics. He is proficient in Photoshop, Garry’s Mod, Source SDK and good old graphite. He was the lead cameraman on the short film Dick Ikon and the Petulant Princess and the leading actor in Diabolus Domi.

Michael Bang is a budding actor who starred in Dick Ikon and the Petulant Princess. He forms a valuable member of the Freekstorm Production crew and assists with every production.
